TRAVELERS REST, S.C. (WSPA) – A multi-million dollar project to improve roads and connectivity in Travelers Rest is nearing completion. It’s on North Poinsett Highway where city leaders said they’re now in the final phase of construction on a project that’s been in progress for the last year.
City leaders emphasized that crews have laid the final coat of asphalt on the roads. They’ve also added a new pedestrian crosswalk outside Chicora Alley, lights and roadway signage for improved visibility.
Travelers Rest City Administrator Shannon Herman told 7NEWS crews are also adding a street light to the intersection of North Poinsett Highway and Tubbs Mountain Road, and a diagonal crossing to the Main Street-Center Street intersection…
