Truck hit by train in Williamston, 3 town employees hurt

WILLIAMSTON, S.C. (WSPA) – Three Williamston town sanitation employees were injured when their garbage truck was hit by a train Friday morning.

The crash happened shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Prince Street near Sullivan Street.

Williamston Mayor Rockey Burgess said all three employees had severe injuries but were expected to survive. One employee was flown to the hospital out of an abundance of caution…
