Nine new measles cases reported in Upstate

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Nine new cases of measles have been identified in Spartanburg County, according to state public health officials.

The South Carolina Department of Public Health reported the new cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases in South Carolina related to the Upstate outbreak to 153 and the total number reported to DPH this year to 156.

Five of the new cases were known household exposures, two resulted from a previously reported school exposure, the source of one is unknown and one is still being investigated…
