SOUTH CAROLINA — A Monday morning call about a man passed out on a utility terrain vehicle in Travelers Rest escalated into a pursuit and ended with the suspect facing multiple felony charges, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they were called to Center Road after receiving a report of a man passed out on a UTV. When deputies arrived, the man woke up and accelerated the vehicle, nearly striking one of the responding deputies, authorities said. The suspect then fled the area, prompting a chase.
During the pursuit, deputies said the suspect abandoned the UTV and ran into a wooded area. While deputies were searching the woods, a single gunshot was heard…
