GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A strong cold front sweeps through the region, bringing gusty winds and ushering in a much colder air mass that will make it feel like the dead of winter. Temperatures will drop sharply throughout the day, with wind chills plummeting to single digits and below zero across the mountains by tonight.

Lower mountain elevations could see gusts between 35-50 mph, while the Piedmont will experience gusty conditions between 20-30 mph. The strongest winds will continue through tonight.
Temperatures will plummet. After peaking in the upper 50s to lower 60s early this afternoon across the Piedmont, temperatures will drop throughout the day in the mountains. By tonight, overnight lows will fall into the teens across the mountains, with wind chills dropping to single digits and below zero—making it dangerous to be outside for extended periods.
