Rabid cow found in Upstate, 19 others exposed

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – More than a dozen cows are in quarantine after being exposed to a cow with rabies, according to state officials.

The South Carolina Department of Public Health said on Monday a cow found near Gentry Road and Highway 81 in Starr has tested positive for rabies.

No people are known to have been exposed to rabies at this time, but 19 cows were exposed to the rabid cow and are now being quarantined…
