Alabama man accused of passing stolen scratch-off tickets in South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged an Alabama man in connection with an alleged lottery fraud case involving stolen scratch-off tickets passed at two Anderson County businesses.

According to SLED, Kieran L. Jones, 24, of Eight Mile, Alabama, was charged Monday, December 29, 2025, with two counts of intent to defraud by passing stolen game tickets. The investigation was requested by the South Carolina Education Lottery.

Arrest warrants state that on May 11, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Jones allegedly passed a stolen scratch-off lottery ticket at Leonard’s Quick Stop, located at 4101 Old Dobbins Bridge Road in Fair Play…
