Over 1K hands-free warnings issued to Upstate drivers since September 2025

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol provided an update on the Hands-Free Law in South Carolina.

Between Sept. 1, 2025, and Jan. 7, 2026, the highway patrol’s Troop 3 has issued 1,171 warnings to drivers, officials say. Troop three covers Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee counties.

In the same time frame, Troop 2 has issued 478 warnings. Troop 2 covers Abbeville, Greenwood, Laurens and Newberry counties…
