The South Carolina Department of Transportation plans to finish two bridge replacement projects in downtown Greenville in early 2026.
The bridges on South Hudson Street and West Washington Street were selected for emergency replacement after sustaining structural damage from flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. Both bridges have been closed since late September 2024. According to SCDOT, right-of-way acquisitions delayed the start of construction for both projects.
