Cold shelters opening across Upstate, WNC ahead of freeze

(WSPA) – With freezing temperature arriving soon, many cold weather shelters are opening their doors across the Upstate and western North Carolina. Here are shelters open during the current freeze:

THE UPSTATE

Spartanburg County:

  • Extreme Cold Weather Shelter – 701 Saxon Avenue, Spartanburg, 7p.m. – 10p.m.
  • Spartanburg Rescue Mission – 189 North Forest Street, Spartanburg, open 7a.m.- 2p.m.

Greenville County:

  • Shepherd’s Gate (Women, children only) – 11 Regency Hill Drive, Greenville, 7a.m. – 2p.m.
  • Greenville Rescue Mission (Men only) – 575 West Washington Street, 7a.m. – 2p.m.

Cherokee County:

  • Cherokee County Rescue Mission – 227 Henderson Street, Gaffney, 7a.m. – 2p.m.

WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA

Buncombe County:
