Earthquake reported between western NC and Upstate

ROSMAN, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The United States Geological Survey said an earthquake hit near the North Carolina and South Carolina state line on Tuesday.

Officials said the 1.9 magnitude earthquake hit 4.8 miles west of Rosman in Transylvania County around 2:19 a.m. It had a depth of two kilometers.
