Anderson Civic Center housing Duke Energy linemen, warming shelter

The Anderson County Civic Center became a hub on Friday, Jan. 23, for both those seeking shelter and Duke Energy line workers ahead of this weekend’s forecasted winter storm.

As a potential winter storm looms, dozens of logistics vehicles and workers delivered food, water, portable toilets, and supplies to the civic center parking lot. All in preparation for the freezing temperatures and the potential damage caused by icy conditions.
