SOUTH CAROLINA — More than 42,000 homes and businesses across South Carolina were without electricity as of the latest update, according to outage tracking data. A total of 42,878 customers were reported without power statewide, representing about 1.4% of the 3,061,392 customers tracked across South Carolina.
The state currently ranks seventh in the nation for the total number of power outages and sixth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
