Court sets new deadline in ex-Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright case

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Prosecutors have a new deadline related to former Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright’s sentencing in his federal case.

Wright pleaded guilty in October to abusing his role as sheriff. He is accused of stealing money from a fund meant to help his own deputies in times of need. Wright used the money to buy pain pills and for other personal reasons.

He faces up to 20 years in prison, but a sentencing date has not been set.

Court orders evidence confirmation
