A mix of Southern Italy, New York City, and Roman-style pizza officially opened on National Pizza Day, Feb. 9, as Augusta Street Pizza brings whole and single-slice square pies, authentic Italian sandwiches, pastas, handcrafted gelato, and more to Greenville.
The new restaurant concept at 2222 Augusta St., #4 is a lifelong passion project built by owners Nick Castronuovo and Carmelo “Carmine” Curra, who met nearly 30 years ago while working on Wall Street.
Their dream of owning a pizza shop was fueled by memories of their families’ ties to Southern Italy and their upbringing in New York. Alongside third owner Peter Lombardo, the trio launched a soft opening with abbreviated hours in mid-December and is now fully open for business…
