Landrum swears in new police chief at Tuesday meeting

LANDRUM—At its regular meeting on Tuesday, February 10, the Landrum City Council swore in a new police chief, approved board appointments, advanced a business license ordinance update, and received extensive reports on parks, conservation, infrastructure, and public safety initiatives.

The meeting opened with the swearing-in of Levi Bouwcamp V as the city’s new chief of police. Standing before council members, city staff, and residents, Bouwcamp, who had been serving as interim chief, thanked those who supported him on his path to leadership.

“I couldn’t have done this without all the support I had from my family, the staff that I work with, there are many of them here today, and the citizens of Landrum,” Bouwcamp said. “I’m honored to continue serving the city.”…
