The Greenville Tech Foundation was recently awarded a grant from the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Foundation.
The local technical college will use the funding distributed over the next two years to purchase new equipment for its dental hygiene program, including:
- Four AIRFLOW Prophylaxis Master units
- Four AIRFLOW Station Carts
- Two Acteon Intraoral Cameras
Students will receive hands-on training with the new technology, which is commonly used in modern dental practices. Kathryn Freedman, Greenville Technical College’s academic program director of dental hygiene, said the program’s student enrollment has increased by nearly 17%. She explained that this growth created a need for additional treatment equipment.
