Greenville Together works to house the city’s homeless

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – An annual count of unhoused people in Greenville kicks off Thursday as part of the ongoing effort to support them.

Director of Greenville Together, Cody Carver, shared that the annual count is especially important in determining how much federal funding the community receives to help the homeless. On average, the Upstate receives about $13 million every year. In addition to the annual count, Greenville Together conducts monthly counts to give real-time support to those in need.

Carver shared that as of last January, 850 people were experiencing homelessness in Greenville County…
