Shelby woman charged after pedestrian fatality

On February 17, a tragic accident occurred in Boiling Springs, South Carolina, when 71-year-old Dragan Stankovic, from Gaffney, was struck and killed while crossing the street. According to the Boiling Springs Police Department, Quantina Leach, a 47-year-old woman from Shelby, was driving north and turning onto East College Avenue when she hit Stankovic, who was in the crosswalk. Leach remained at the scene, and Stankovic was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
