Upstate man with ties to Mexican drug cartel sentenced to prison

(WSPA) — An Easley man was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for his involvement in a Mexican drug-trafficking operation (DTO) with ties to the Sinaloa cartel.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the investigation began in 2023, when officials learned the DTO was shipping methamphetamine into North Carolina.
