Greenville County leaders introduce new way to manage rapid growth

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Leaders in Greenville County are exploring a new approach to managing the county’s rapid growth, one that could tie future development directly to whether local infrastructure can support it.

The Greenville County council recently approved a resolution authorizing county staff to study developing land development concurrency guidelines and requirements. The concept would require the knowledge that infrastructure such as roads, schools, and utilities would to be able to handle new development before building permits are issued.
