On Thursday afternoon, the applicant for a controversial 800-acre annexation in Fountain Inn withdrew their application from the City.
Fountain Inn’s Mayor GP McLeer released a statement on social media acknowleging the removal of this item from Council’s agenda. No motion or action will be required by Council at tonight’s meeting on the matter as the annexation is no longer pending.
“Thanks to public input, planning commission comments and concerns raised by every member of City Council, this withdrawal means that this item is no longer up for consideration by Council,” McLeer said in the statement. “Thank you to everyone who reached out over these last few weeks via email, calls, at Planning Commission and also around town.”…
