Clemson Routs Tech to Salvage One Game

CLEMSON — Clemson took out two games of offensive frustration on No. 4 Georgia Tech in two innings on Saturday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

The eighth-ranked Tigers plated eight runs in the fifth inning and then three more in the bottom of the sixth inning in a 13-7 rout of the Yellow Jackets. It was quite the contrast from the previous two games in which Tech run-ruled the Tigers in Game 1 and won 9-3 in Game 2.

But Clemson’s offensive explosion in the fifth and sixth innings, allowed the Tigers to avoid being swept by the Yellow Jackets in the weekend series. Tryston McCladdie tied a Clemson record with three doubles in one game, as he 4-for-6 at the plate and drove in two runs…
