‘We’re just looking for closure’: New push to find Upstate woman missing for over three decades

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) — The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in the case of a woman who has been missing for 35 years.

The sheriff’s office said Melissa Anne McBee was last seen in January 1991, leaving her sister’s home in Polk County, North Carolina, with her boyfriend. She was headed back to her home in Inman. She was 22 years old at the time of her disappearance.

“Well, it’s just kind of set the whole family in turmoil when you’ve got somebody in your family missing, and for this long, you can’t end things,” said Bill Johnson, McBee’s brother. “I mean, since then, since she’s been gone, we’ve already lost a sister and two brothers.”
