Siemens to invest $165 million into Carolinas facilities to meet AI data center demand

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Siemens is expanding its manufacturing footprint across North Carolina and South Carolina with more than $165 million in new investments, the company announced, citing surging demand for electrical infrastructure tied to the rapid growth of artificial intelligence data centers across the United States.

The investment will add 350 jobs across the two states and bring several new facilities online, with production focused on the low and medium-voltage electrical equipment that powers large-scale AI computing operations.

“Customer demand is at an all-time high as advanced infrastructure upgrades are needed to meet the power requirements from increasing AI workloads,” Ruth Gratzke, president of Siemens Smart Infrastructure U.S., said. “Through sustained investment in U.S. manufacturing, Siemens is enhancing its capacity to meet the needs of data center and AI factory customers during this transformative phase of the AI industrial revolution.”…
