South Carolina mother accused of killing 8-year-old daughter in DUI crash

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA)—The mother of an 8-year-old child, who was killed in a crash Saturday, was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center on Monday.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol arrested 30-year-old Jacosha Simpson on charges including felony DUI involving death after a Saturday night crash killed her 8-year-old daughter.

The crash occurred just before 10 p.m. on March 14 at the intersection of Sandy Ford Road and Fosters Grove Road. Investigators reported that Simpson was traveling in a Mazda when she supposedly disregarded a stop sign and drove off the road into an open field.
