Introduced: Donaldson Center FSA bond measure
Council accepted for first reading an ordinance that would authorize the Donaldson Fire Service Area to issue up to $2 million in general obligation bonds to help underwrite the cost of replacing an aging fire engine.
Specifically, the measure would authorize the fire district to take on debt to replace a 2001 pumper truck. In documents supporting the bond measure, the district cited the unit’s obsolescence and increasing maintenance costs as reasons for replacement.
Those documents also said the district would commit $1 million in surplus funds toward the equipment purchase. The ordinance will require two further readings and a public hearing, both expected next month.
