The Greenville County Council heard several agenda items at its Tuesday night meeting, including zoning decisions and an agreement tied to a multi-county industrial park.
Among the items was an ordinance authorizing an agreement for the development of Hunter Industrial Park, a joint project between Laurens County and Greenville County. Council approved the ordinance 8-1, and it will be heard for a third time before final approval.
Council also considered a potential FILOT agreement for a new manufacturing company in Greer. A FILOT, or Fee in Lieu of Taxes agreement, lets companies pay a fee instead of standard property taxes in exchange for meeting certain investment requirements. United Composite Materials LLC and Hankuk Composites US Inc. plan to move into an existing manufacturing facility, creating 50 new full-time jobs and investing $10 million in the county…
