The Greenville City Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) has approved a permit for a black box theater experience highlighting Black playwrights and performers at the Phyllis Wheatley Community Center.
On March 12, the board of seven conditionally approved the theater and performance operation run by Clark Nesbitt’s non-profit production company, No Dreams Deferred, at 40 John McCarroll Way. The DreamBox Theatre — a 75-seat black box theater will be used for one- to two-hour shows, with ticket prices between $10 and $35.
