GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Police Department has received the “Gold Standard” of international accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. This is a prestigious standard, as only 966 police departments out of over 18,000 have received this accreditation.

Thompson. “Our team is committed to serving the community with integrity and accountability and this accreditation reinforces our continued focus on excellence in policing.”
The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies was formed in 1979. Departments that receive this honor are then reviewed every four years. Departments are encouraged to be on the lookout for new ways they can innovate and improve, while also being on the lookout for challenges that may develop within their departments…
