Greenville metro population surpasses 1 million, as growth brings gains and pains

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – More than 1 million people now live in the Greenville metro area, which includes Greenville, Anderson, Pickens and Laurens counties, according to the latest census data.

The population has grown by around 15% in the last decade, putting pressure on roads, schools and other infrastructure.

Traffic concerns mount on Woodruff Road

Greenville County resident Tee said Woodruff Road has changed dramatically over the past nine years.
