‘These claims are inaccurate’: Police address concerns about operation resulting in 20 arrests

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) — The Spartanburg Police Department arrested 20 people on Thursday, April 2, during a coordinated operation to address trespassing and public disorderly conduct.

The effort was conducted in partnership with the Homeless Engagement and Response Team (HEART) from A Place to Call Home.

The operation followed more than a year of requests from local businesses for assistance with trespassing, littering and public alcohol consumption on private property and sidewalks.
