SLED: Upstate detention deputy accused of texting inmate through contraband phone

LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) reports a Laurens County deputy was charged on Tuesday for bringing in contraband into the detention center.

Arrest warrants said 36-year-old Ashley Landreth, between Mar. 4, 2024, and Feb. 13, 2025, gave a cell phone to an inmate and then texted with inmates through the contraband phone, while employed as a detention deputy.
