State Police: Man arrested for trying to sell retired NASCAR truck as road-legal

CARLISLE, Pa. — State Police have arrested a man after they say he tried to sell a retired NASCAR truck as a road-legal vehicle at a Cumberland County car auction.

Yancy Cupp, of Williamsport, is charged with seven felonies including forgery, alteration or destruction of a vehicle identification number, and deceptive business practices in addition to one misdemeanor and two summary offenses.

According to State Police, Cupp purchased the vehicle from a NASCAR series truck driver and installed a fake VIN. Cupp then allegedly used the fake VIN to get a Pennsylvania certificate of title…
