YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — LifePath Christian Ministries will expand its services to the Pewterex building in downtown York.
The shelter, which provides thousands with shelter each year, purchased the old brick factory for $1.6 million last yeat year. It kicked off a public capital campaign on Tuesday as it looks to raise another $10 million to renovate the complex.
It plans to develop a modern campus that will connect people experiencing homelessness with one-on-one case management, vocational, mental and behavioral health services, life skills workshops, housing counseling, financial education classes and more.
“What this new facility will offer is access to the services at the rear of the building under a canopy, a covered canopy, so if they do have to wait outside, they’ll be able to stand outside. They won’t be in the elements, and more importantly, they won’t be standing on one of the main streets in York where people can see them,” said Patrick Ball, CEO of LifePath Christian Ministries.
