Central Pa. police officer on leave after killing dog, wounding its owner

A York City police officer is on leave after fatally shooting a dog Tuesday evening after it attacked him, also injuring its owner, officials said.

The officer was called at 7:35 p.m. to a disorderly conduct report in the 300 block of West Philadelphia Street.

While investigating and checking a home for damage, the officer was attacked by a loose dog. The officer retreated and fired several shots, killing the dog, according to police Commissioner Michael Muldrow…
