Harrisburg to put remaining items from late Mayor Reed’s memorabilia collection up for auction

What may be Harrisburg’s last stash from Stephen R. Reed, artifact hunter, could go on the auction block later this year.

The City Council, according to next Tuesday’s agenda, is expected to hire Cordier Auctions to curate and sell items seized from the late Harrisburg mayor during a 2015 fraud investigation.

Reed, the city’s mayor from 1982 through 2010, became notorious for using public funds to build inventory for his vision of a string of museums designed to raise Harrisburg’s tourism profile…
