Hundreds turn out for Harrisburg’s Juneteenth parade

Harrisburg closed out its week of Juneteenth celebrations with the city’s second annual Juneteenth parade and a concert.

“This parade is Harrisburg stamping its place in America’s freedom story,” said Airis Smallwood, Parade Chair and Founder of The Singers Lounge, in a news release before the parade. “We are not just marching, we are declaring and celebrating the rich Black American history that lives right here in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.”

Hundreds turned out to watch performers, bands, dancers and more in the parade. The parade started and ended at North Front and Market streets…
