The Harrisburg Area YMCA will host a free community celebration at the Camp Curtin YMCA 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, marking the official ribbon-cutting of the branch’s newly renovated first floor.
The event, Coach Cam’s “Make A Layup” annual Community Day, will feature family-friendly activities, basketball games and local vendors. It also honors the legacy of a former Camp Curtin YMCA athletics coach Gregory “Cam” Campbell whose work shaped generations of youth and families in the Harrisburg area, the YMCA said.
Renovations to the facility include the installation of HVAC and air conditioning in the basketball gym, a new teen technology center, a teaching kitchen for nutrition and life skills education and updated community spaces…
