In the heart of Pennsylvania’s capital, where triumph and struggle often exist side by side, one man has dedicated his career to making sure the stories of Harrisburg are seen, heard and remembered.
That man is Preston A. Dent — a Harrisburg native whose work as an author, musician, independent filmmaker and director has made him one of the city’s most recognizable creative voices.
Dent has spent years documenting the people, culture and challenges of the city that raised him. His work shines a light on youth, sports, family and the difficult realities that many communities face while also emphasizing hope, resilience, and redemption.
His biggest cinematic achievement is “Harrisburg: The Movie,” an independent feature film that he wrote, directed and funded. The project culminated in a red-carpet premiere in May at the Whitaker Center…
