Swimming prohibited at York County park due to ‘elevated fecal coliform’

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The Gifford Pinchot State Park in Lewisberry announced Tuesday that swimming has been prohibited after routine water testing revealed a bacteria in the water.

According to the park, tests showed elevated levels of fecal coliform, which is found in the intestinal tracts of humans and animals.

The park said other activities in the water like boating and fishing are still allowed…
