Middletown borough officials ban fireworks, outdoor burning amid drought indicators

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Middletown borough officials announced a ban on outdoor burning and fireworks Thursday as a result of drought indicators in the area.

Officials said the decision was made due to a lack of rainfall and dry vegetation in the area, and that the use of consumer fireworks and open burning could increase the probability of accidental fires.
