YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — As holiday celebrations ramp up for America’s 250 festivities and the July Fourth weekend, officials across central Pennsylvania are urging residents to take extra precautions outdoors as burn bans expand in parts of the Susquehanna Valley.

In York County, a 15-acre brush fire broke out on Bowers Bridge Road this week, prompting renewed attention on how quickly dry conditions can turn a small ignition into a fast-moving fire.
