U.S. Attorney’s Office reach settlement with local skating rink following alleged ADA violations

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that it has reached a civil settlement with a local skating rink following reports that it violated the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said it received multiple complaints alleging that Roll R Way, which has locations in York, Chambersburg and Donora, refused entry to families with children with Type 1 Diabetes.

The complaints claimed that the rink refused to let in families who brought their children’s diabetes treatment supplies, which included small amounts of food and drink to help with low blood sugar, because of its “no outside food or drink policy.”…
