Gifford Pinchot State Park closed for swimming due to elevated E. coli levels

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Another Pennsylvania state park is not allowing swimming after elevated levels of E. coli were discovered.

Once bacteria levels are lower, swimming will be allowed again at the Quaker Race Day Use Area in Gifford Pinchot State Park in Lewisberry, York County, the park said Thursday in a social media post.

Visitors can still boat or fish at the day-use areas, the park said…
