(WHTM) — A former Midstate judge convicted of shooting her boyfriend has lost another opportunity to get out of prison sooner than expected.
Sonya McKnight, an ex-Dauphin County Magisterial District Judge who was convicted of attempted murder in May 2025, had been attempting to appeal the decision since earlier this year.
This time, her lawyer argued the judge gave jurors instructions that could have biased them in favor of a conviction. An appeals court has turned down that attempt.
