The Rollers are coming off back-to-back Class 1A titles.

The decision to move Steel-High to Class 2A is based on two factors, one of which is the back to back championships. The two titles gave Steel High 8 “success points,” which crossed the 6 point threshold.

The school also had four transfer students (one more than the threshold) but argued that three of those transfer students were from Middletown, which experienced a hazing scandal that canceled their 2022 season.
