Harrisburg Area Food Pantry moving to YMCA’s Camp Curtin

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The Harrisburg Area Food Pantry is moving into the YMCA’s Camp Curtin branch on North 6th Street.

This will happen next week and allow the pantry to serve even more than the 900 families it already helps each month.

The pantry says it’s seen a surge in need over the past two years.

Deidre Lenker, executive director for the Harrisburg Area Food Pantry said, “In order to meet that volume we need a space that is completely accessible, on one floor, we need that both for our clients so that they can get out of the building easily, and safety and also for our volunteers.”

The pantry will re-open on Monday, Feb. 5.
