(WTAJ) — Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) rescued a bald eagle that had been struck by a vehicle while feeding, according to their Facebook .
Troopers responded to a report of a bald eagle that had been hit on the roadway on Monday, Feb. 12. The bird had an injured wing, and to secure the bird for transport, Trooper Ebbert wrapped the eagle in their jackets.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission met troopers at PSP Newport, where they took the eagle in for rehabilitation.

In Pa., the bald eagle is protected under the Game and Wildlife Code . Although the bald eagle is no longer on the endangered or threatened list, it is protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act and the Migratory Bird Protection Treaty Act.
