HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) – The Humane Society of Harrisburg Area opened its doors to the community on Saturday after recently joining forces with the Brandywine Valley SPCA. With the extra help, HSHA says it’s now on a path to achieving a “No-Kill” status, which is when healthy or treatable animals are given the proper care despite any time limits or capacity issues. Euthanization would only be used as a last resort for animals that are suffering or are a danger to others.
